Resigned from the Workplace

Prior to resign from work, it’s good to consider the things below:

Q: I do not feel comfortable to work in a place now. I intend to resign, but I’m afraid will become unemployed because now, looking for a job is not easy. How should I address this problem?

A: There are 2 interrelated factors in the motivation and work satisfaction. The first factor in the form is salaries, facilities, location and work environment. The second factor, more the aspect of “psychological” is a chance to get a promotion, awards for work performance, work atmosphere, including the boss and co-workers, facilities and working procedures.
You must consider, what exactly makes you not feel at home. Do you feel “underpaid”, no visit to get a promotion, working atmosphere uncomfortable, or other things? Would it be better if you move? Do not hurry in taking decisions, because it is difficult to think objectively in emotional conditions.

If you already feel confident to resign, it is time to find a new job while still survive in the job long. Do not resign before getting a better job (unless you have savings of at least 3 times your monthly income, always had nightmares every night for your job, or because of safety and your life is threatened in the workplace). Before making a letter of resignation, you must look for a good time to discuss this issue with your boss. Do not be emotional with the company or any discredit to say that the reason you resigned was because the company “did not treat me well”. Try to speak calmly and flat tone. Never you challenge or even your boss behind the attack, but stress that you will make the handover of office and duties as well as possible based on the rules and conditions apply.

Keep in your mind that you are going to work in a good way and stopped work must be done in a good way too. Remember also that people tend to remember first and last impression of someone after submitting your desire to quit your boss verbally, and then you must make the letter of resignation officially. Make sure that the letter has been made in accordance with applicable regulations. With the resignation letter then you will be free of duties and responsibilities of office from the date stated in the letter. Thus if there is abuse of office after that date then you will not be blamed.

In general, each worker has a work agreement or contract which refers to the working personnel rules and regulations. In the letter of agreement has been arranged matters concerning resignation or stop working. Example: letter of resignation must be submitted no later than 30 days (thirty) before the applicant stopped working, and during the period of the employees who quit have an obligation to train or transfer their knowledge to new employees who will take his place. Well… in that time you also have to resolve all matters pertaining to the client / customer, financial or administrative affairs. Use this opportunity to give a positive impression on co-workers and your boss.

Do not forget to ask for references. The letter helps your prospective employer to “know” you from the perspective of your former employer finally, do not forget to say goodbye to co-workers (without revealing the bad reasons why you decided to get out).
